Introduction To Center for Academic Excellence and Development

Welcome to the Center of Excellence and Academic Development (CAED) UMK. CAED in its formation will take charge on three (3) core Unit. 

  • TEACHING AND LEARNING INNOVATIVE UNIT
  • ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT UNIT
  • TEACHING AND LEARNING ASSESSMENT UNIT

All these three Unit were table as to give direction the job scope of CAED. For each Unit, there are details to enhance the unit operated under CAED.

This unit is responsible for coordinating and implementing services that will improve professionalism among academic staff as well as organizing seminar/workshop to enhance their competence and career.

Functions

  • Implement professional development programme and provide training for lecturers through programmes such as the Basic Certification in Teaching and Learning Course Programme for new academic staff and Student-Centred Learning (SCL) training programme.
  • Supervise, coordinate and update e-learning system as well as organise training workshop for all staff to enhance the effectiveness of quality teaching and learning.
  • Conduct end of semester evaluations of teaching and learning activities for academic staff.
